Chia seeds are tiny mighty powerhouses of omega-3 fatty acids, known to help treat dry eyes and reduce the risk of high eye pressure. Add blueberries for a topping and get a healthy dose of its anthocyanins (a potent antioxidant found in colorful, dark fruits) which protects the retina against damage from UV light exposure. Use almond milk for its vitamin E, another antioxidant that helps slow down age-related macular degeneration. Spirulina is high in zeaxanthin, which helps reduce and slow the risk of chronic eye diseases.
