Pass the Peas with Shallots, please! This combination of peas and shallots makes for an easy and nutritious dish, plus it tastes good too, and together, both ingredients contain vitamins and antioxidants that strengthen your immune system. Peas begin to lose their nutritional value as soon as they are harvested, so it is okay to buy flash-frozen peas.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter or ghee
1/2-pound fresh sugar snap peas, trimmed
1 cup frozen peas
2 shallots, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillets, heat butter/ghee over medium-high heat.
Add snap peas, frozen peas, and shallots; cook and stir until crisp-tender, 5-6 minutes.
Stir in salt and pepper.
